Overview |
The Latin American Network is comprised of major law firms in North, Central and South America. The member firms share the following characteristics:
The member firms understand the U.S. and European client’s expectation that work will be performed promptly, thoroughly and correctly. Most of their lawyers are bilingual and many have been educated in the United States or Europe and trained in exchange programs with leading international law firms.
In addition to performing a substantial amount of work for U.S. and European firms, each of the member firms is a leading law firm in its own market. This is significant for two reasons. First, since a substantial portion of the Latin American regulatory practice is in fact an administrative practice, knowledge of the functions of all levels of public administration is critical. All member firms regularly appear before key governmental agencies and have acquired the necessary expertise to represent clients on administrative matters. Second, by maintaining their local client base from among the major industrial and commercial groups, the member firms are better able to advise and serve foreign clients who wish to have access to and understand the local market.
